Boat Detailing at the dock or in your driveway.
Mobile boat detailing from our base in Elgin. Hull oxidation removal, gelcoat polishing, teak deck work and marine ceramic coatings, done wherever the boat is: at the marina, in dry-stack or on a trailer at home.
What our boat detailing covers
Boats get the same eye for detail as the cars we work on, with products made for marine surfaces. Gelcoat, teak, vinyl and glass all need different treatment than automotive paint, and using car products on a boat is how gelcoat ends up stained or teak ends up dried out.

Why gelcoat goes chalky
Gelcoat is the hard, glossy outer layer on most fiberglass boats. It is tougher than it looks, but it is porous, and a summer of direct sun and water slowly oxidizes it. The color fades, the shine goes flat and you get that chalky residue that comes off on your hand.
Oxidation removal and polishing cut away the damaged layer and bring back the color underneath. On a boat that has gone a few seasons without care, that can be a dramatic difference. The catch is that freshly polished gelcoat starts oxidizing again if you leave it bare, which is where a marine ceramic coating comes in. It puts a UV-resistant layer on top and makes waterline scum and grime much easier to wash off.
When to book: spring and fall
Spring, before the boat goes in, is the most popular time. You start the season with a clean, polished hull and protected gelcoat instead of fighting last year’s grime all summer.
Fall, before the boat goes into storage for the winter, is just as smart. Dirt, bird droppings and waterline scum left on the hull all winter are harder to get off in spring. Cleaning it before it gets covered or shrink-wrapped means it comes out of storage in the same shape it went in.
Marina, dry-stack or driveway
We work dockside, in dry-stack and on boats sitting on a trailer at home. Lots of owners keep the boat on a trailer in the driveway between trips, and that is often the easiest setup: we need room to walk the full length of the hull, access to water and, ideally, a standard outlet.
At a marina, check their rules for outside contractors before we book. Some require proof of insurance or limit when vendors can work on the docks. Let us know what they need and we will handle it.
Pricing: by quote
Every boat is different, so marine work is quoted individually. Price scales with the length of the boat, the condition of the gelcoat and how easy it is to reach. Giancarlo looks at each boat before quoting, and quotes are turned around within 24 hours. Call (331) 210-2110 or send a request through the booking page.
If you also want your car or truck done while we are there, see the services page for package prices, or check which towns we cover on the service area page.

Boat detailing questions
How much does boat detailing cost?
Boat detailing is quoted per boat. Price scales with the size of the boat, its condition and how easy it is to get to. Giancarlo looks at each boat before quoting, and quotes are turned around within 24 hours. Call (331) 210-2110 to start.
Can you detail my boat at the marina?
Often, yes. We work dockside and in dry-stack. Many marinas have rules about outside contractors, so check with yours first and let us know what they require.
Can you remove oxidation from my hull?
Yes. Hull oxidation removal and gelcoat polishing take off the chalky, faded layer and bring back the color and shine. Afterward we can protect it with a marine ceramic coating.
Do you put ceramic coatings on boats?
Yes. Marine ceramic coatings protect polished gelcoat from UV and make the hull much easier to clean at the end of the season. Like the rest of our marine work, it is quoted per boat.
What size boats do you work on?
Everything from sport and ski boats to cruisers and yachts. Tell us the make, length and where the boat is kept when you reach out, and we will quote from there.
